In her original statement, Leavitt clarified, “This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo. Why? To end any confusion created by the court’s injunction. The President’s executive orders on federal funding remain in full force and effect and will be rigorously implemented.” This message aimed to elucidate the Trump administration’s stance on the matter.
President Trump revoked an Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directive that had effectively frozen numerous federal grants and programs, a decision that was subsequently blocked by a federal judge within days. Leavitt’s post indicated that while the initial memo had been rescinded, Trump’s other directives, including those halting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives at the federal level, remained in effect.
Her statement was positively received, amassing over 69,000 likes. Min expressed his outrage in response, stating, “Thou shalt not bear false witness… Karoline Leavitt is a Fake Christian, like so many in this Golden Calf administration.” He accused her of dishonesty and questioned her faith, referencing Exodus 32, which recounts the Israelites’ creation of a golden idol in place of worshiping God. The precise intent of this reference remains ambiguous.
Min has previously targeted the press secretary. In response to her comment regarding the potential allocation of $50 million in taxpayer funds for condoms in Gaza, he felt compelled to react. This remark pertains to the Department of Government Efficiency, established by Trump to address wasteful federal expenditures.
He ridiculed her, asserting that she was voicing her opinions “while displaying a large cross to signal her piety and morality, even as she comfortably propagates a blatant falsehood to hundreds of millions.” The Democrat’s outburst was met with disdain from online commentators.
