Just In: Trump FCC Opens Investigation into George Soros

Significant developments have emerged for supporters of the MAGA movement, particularly those anticipating action against George Soros, a prominent financier of far-left initiatives. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), under the Trump administration, has initiated an investigation into one of the numerous radio stations associated with Soros. The FCC contends that this station unlawfully broadcast the locations of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

To provide context, in 2024, Soros acquired over 200 radio stations, many of which are Spanish-language, utilizing foreign investments for these purchases. These stations not only span a wide range of American media markets but also enable Soros to disseminate messages to millions. The investigation was prompted by activities at one such station, specifically San Francisco’s KCBS 740 AM.

This station faced criticism for airing live updates on the locations of both personnel and vehicles engaged in undercover operations for ICE, particularly in the vicinity of San Jose, California. According to reports from Fox News Digital, the host of KCBS 740 AM stated during the controversial broadcast, “The Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, which serves as a community defense initiative for immigrant populations against deportation threats, first reported the activity on its platforms.” The host proceeded to disclose detailed information about unmarked vehicles associated with ICE, including their make, model, color, and precise locations.

In response, the FCC has launched an investigation into KCBS 740 AM. As reported by Fox News Digital, the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has issued a formal Letter of Inquiry to the station, examining whether it has breached the conditions of its FCC license, which mandates that the station operate in the “public interest.”

The formal letter from the FCC Enforcement Bureau outlines potential reasons for the station’s non-compliance with this licensing requirement.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr addressed the issue in an interview with Fox News Digital, beginning by expressing gratitude to the agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for their dedicated service. He stated, “I wish to convey my sincere thanks and appreciation to the agents of DHS and ICE. These law enforcement professionals are serving our nation with honor and executing critical missions.”

He further emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety of these agents, asserting that disclosing their locations does not align with the public interest. Carr remarked, “Their safety is of utmost importance. The FCC will ensure that broadcasters adhere to their obligations regarding the public interest.”

Additionally, Carr explained, “The situation involved ICE agents conducting undercover operations in East San Jose, an area known for violent gang activity. During this time, a radio station was broadcasting their live location, thereby identifying the unmarked vehicles they were using.”
